Let Them Believe They Are In Charge

Posted: November 22, 2010 in Rules of Human Training

This is the most important rule to understand. You are not going to get far unless you accept this.

Wait a minute! What’s this? We thought you were going to teach us how to get our own way!

Everything comes at a price, my friend. But believe me, the rewards are many.

You have to sow before you can reap. You have to give before you can get.
—Robert Collier

Humans are mind bogglingly insecure creatures.

Ever since Eve snatched that apple from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, humans have been confused and lost.

Just think about it. First thing they did after eating that apple was freaking out over being naked!

They were naked all along and it didn’t bother anybody until they decided that there was something wrong with it.

Things only went down the hill after that.

Their confusion about what is right or wrong is only part of the problem. Often humans know what is right but do wrong anyway.

Then they feel guilty about it which further deepens their insecurity.

To top it all off, while their civilization caused them to lose their natural instincts, they didn’t manage to keep up with their own evolution.

They don’t know if they’re coming or going.

Give your human a semblance of control and they will move mountains for you!

We like being stroked or scratched behind our ears, bums or bellies.

Stroke your human’s ego and they will do anything for you!

Let your human believe they’re your master and you got yourself a slave!

Sadly, it’s all true. We really are this easy. Humans are a predictable lot. I wonder how more dogs don’t know this. Cats certainly have caught on.

BOL That’s where I come in – so all dogs know BOL. There are many, my buddy J.D. including, that are too focused on what they want to notice anything around them. Very human-like. BOL
